Sunnyhill Vineyard

Sunnyhill Vineyard

Sunnyhill Vineyard is a lovely organic winery and vineyard located in Horspath, in the heart of South Oxfordshire, just 3.5 miles from the centre of Oxford. The vineyard occupies a sunny south-facing slope, offering visitors far-reaching views of the rolling countryside. It is a peaceful place, and just a closer look reveals the family's five adorable alpacas ambling through the fields, enhancing the pastoral idyll.

The vineyard was established ten years ago by husband and wife, Louise and Ilir Kebej. They planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier to produce English Sparkling Rosé using the traditional method, as well as Rondo for red wine and Seyval Blanc, Phoenix, and Orion for white wine. Committed to organic farming, the family produces fruit without the use of chemicals, pesticides, or additives. As Ilir himself says, “Our wines are made in the purest possible way, resulting in a taste that is very different from commercial wines.”

Visitors can book a guided walk around the vines to the top of the vineyard to enjoy lovely views of Oxford and surrounding villages. The tour includes entry to the winery, where you can delve into the heart of family-run winemaking and taste the wines. For those with hearty appetites, a ploughman’s lunch option is available.

Additionally, the vineyard offers an Alpaca walking experience and has recently started hosting Wood Oven Pizza Nights, both of which require advance booking. Sunnyhill Vineyard is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, with cakes and refreshments available.
