  • Preparing starters and leavers data to be entered into payroll
  • Reviewing our duty allocation system for the weekly paid driving and engineering staff for accuracy, correcting any errors found and then preparing these for wages payment
  • Checking the daily drivers traffic delay reports for accuracy 
  • Preparing the sickness payments comprised of company sickness and SSP 
  • Preparing the shorts and overs for the driver’s, checking if they have paid in correctly and make recoveries through their pay if necessary 
  • Calculating the holiday pay average payments 
  • Preparing a corrections import sheet, to send to the Head Office payroll team 
  • Run & review Gross to Net reports, highlighting any errors, underpayments etc. before payroll is approved 
  • Check our reports to Head Office control totals before running the reports for payment approval 
  • Wages queries received in person, telephone and email Other duties could include: 
  • Company pension advice
  • Providing payroll information for employees for mortgages, loans, tax & visa info 
  • Preparing KPI reports for the accounts team, submitting data to the pensions office 
  • Duty Allocation upkeep adding in new employees, removing leavers, setting passwords, creating rotas or duties 
  • Provide support to colleagues in the accounts team or cash office when required

qualifications button

  • Familiarity with payroll terminology and legislation. Experience processing numerous weekly payrolls. 
  • Experience with rota systems. 
  • Driving licence is advantageous.
