Thames Travel Service Changes 4th September
4th Sep 2022 onwards
Connector 23/23A
Great Western Park North - Milton Park - Didcot - Slade End Farm - Wallingford - Nettlebed - Henley-on-Thames
This new service replaces the 99A/99C, X38 services and certain journeys on the 33 service. Linking these routes together opens up new through journey opportunities such as Nettlebed to Milton Park or Didcot to Henley-on-Thames. In the same way that the 99A/99C only operate on weekdays, the 23/23A will not serve Great Western Park and Milton Park at weekends.
In Wallingford, the 23/23A will serve King Henry Avenue in the new Slade End Farm / Highcroft development. The 23 will operate from Monday to Saturday only via Hithercroft Road and St John’s Road to the Market Place before operating onto Henley-on-Thames. The Sunday only 23A service will serve Wantage Road, Station Road, Croft Road and St John’s Road to the Market Place before operating onto Henley-on-Thames.
The 23/23A will operate up to every hour with buses timed to combine with the 33 service between Milton Park (Monday to Friday only) and Didcot and Wallingford to provide a bus up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday.
Connector 33
Oxford - Cumnor - Wootton - Abingdon - Milton Park - Didcot - Wallingford
This route is extended to start in Oxford City Centre at St Aldates, Police Station. The route will follow the current city4 route to Abingdon via Cumnor, Wootton and Shippon. From Abingdon, the 33 will follow the existing route to Didcot via Culham, Sutton Courtenay, Milton and Milton Park. On Monday to Saturday, buses will continue to Wallingford with all trips operating via Wantage Road and Station Road. Linking the 33 with the current city4 will enable new through journey opportunities such as Wootton to Milton Park.
The 33 will operate up to every hour with buses timed to combine with the 23 service between Milton Park (Monday to Friday only) and Didcot and Wallingford to provide a bus up to every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday. Between Oxford and Cumnor, the 33 and 63 will combine to provide a bus up to twice an hour.
