Bygone Boating
Located on the banks of The Thames, Bygone Boating is a small, family-run business that hires out a small but growing fleet of beautiful wooden dayboats. The boats are lined up on a particularly picturesque stretch of the river between the historic villages of Dorchester-on-Thames and Wallingford, and each one has been carefully restored by a lovely husband-and-wife team. The boats also include some additional features to make your river adventure more comfortable, such as a cool box and sun shade.
You will be hiring a wooden clinker boat with an inboard engine for a day excursion, though one with an outboard is currently also being restored. Some boating expertise is beneficial but not necessary.
There is also a riverside café along the waterfront, that serves brunch through to supper, making it a great place to start or end the day.

When you produce a valid or recently expired (‘Today’) app ticket on the Oxford Bus app, you’ll get 10% off dayboat hire, Monday to Friday.
