App Benefits gives Oxford Bus app users exclusive discounts at various businesses in and around Oxford! To access these fantastic benefits, you can either:
- present an active app ticket in the Oxford Bus app, or
- present an expired app ticket used on the same day in the Oxford Bus app

How to access App Benefits
Option 1: Valid app tickets
This option is recommended for app users who have purchased tickets valid for an extended period (e.g., 1 Day). This is because activating your ticket will start a countdown for the duration of your ticket’s validity, after which it will no longer be valid for travel. Only activate your ticket if you have enough time remaining to travel as recently expired tickets are NOT valid for travel.
To purchase a ticket via the Oxford Bus app:
- Create an account with your email address
- Select Mobile Tickets from the menu
- Select Buy a Ticket
- Choose your ticket and follow the prompts to checkout
- Activate your ticket
Option 2: Recently expired app tickets
To access your recently expired tickets on the Oxford Bus app:
- Select Settings from the menu
- Select Recently expired tickets in the Ticketing menu
- The timestamps and date of your recently expired tickets will be visible
Only tickets that expired Today will grant access to the benefit. You must also show the whole process at the point of sale in the participating business as this is part of the ticket verification process – screenshots of Recently expired tickets will not be accepted.
Terms and conditions
To receive a discount, you must show a participating business a valid ticket purchased using the "Oxford Bus" mobile app, or a ticket purchased through the app that has expired on the day of presentation.

When an offer is available for a limited time, this will be clearly indicated on our website.
Provision of a benefit is down to the discretion of the participating business, meaning Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel are not responsible for the refusal of a benefit by a participating business.
Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel will not reimburse any refused benefits.
Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel are not responsible for the premature activation of any tickets and will not reissue or refund expired tickets that were prematurely activated.
