We are looking to recruit a practical, motivated and energetic individual for the post of Service Controller at Thames Travel, in Didcot. The successful candidate will cover duties in the Control Room
Job Location: Thames Travel Depot, Collett, Didcot OX11 7WB.
Service Controllers are first-line supervisors and work closely with drivers to ensure our services operate to the highest possible quality standards. Service Controllers work closely with drivers to maximise their commitment and motivation as well as ensure quality and standards of operational effectiveness.
We are looking to recruit a practical, motivated and energetic individual for the post of Service Controller at Thames Travel, in Didcot. The successful candidate will cover duties in the Control Room. The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, either alone or as part of a team, be willing and able to organise, motivate and above all demonstrate a real commitment to providing the best and most efficient service possible in what can often be challenging conditions. You must hold a Category B manual licence, as well as a Category D (PCV) licence.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of staff rostering
- Experience in dealing with outside agencies e.g. local authorities
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to explain complex issues in a simplified way
- Knowledge of the operating area
- Ability to negotiate with a wide range of people
- Working knowledge of health and safety with the willingness to obtain the IOSH Qualification
- Able to gain the confidence and respect of third-party organisations
